Anti-wrinkle injections - FAQs

HOW DO ANTI-WRINKLE INJECTIONS WORK?

Anti-winkle injections work on the nerve endings, preventing neural firing and subsequently causing a state of temporary muscle relaxation. This prevents dynamic movements of muscles rendering your face susceptible to wrinkles, including the forehead, frown lines and eyes.

HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS LAST?

Anti-wrinkle injections reach their peak effect after approximately two weeks and last anywhere between three and four months. Repeated treatment will prolong the effect, often delaying the need for top-ups.

Are there any side effects?

Short term side effects include minor bleeding, bruising and swelling around injection sites. Longer side effects include asymmetry and unwanted muscle relaxation. These side effects are rare, and will be discussed in more depth during your consultation.

HOW LONG WILL MY CONSULATION LAST?

Your consultation will last approximately 30 minutes. Prior to treatment we will discuss your concerns and problem areas, medical history, and suggested treatments. If both practitioner and client are happy treatment will be offered the same day. On occasion clients may wish to delay the decision, and on these occasions your consultation will not be charged.

When can I resume my daily activities?

Activities can be resumed immediately post treatment. Some bruising and swelling is often experienced for several hours to days, however this should not impair your ability to continue your day as normal. We advise avoidance of activities causing excessive perspiration to avoid reduced effects of the products, including exercise, saunas and stream rooms. Additionally, we advise avoidance of alcohol 24 hours before and after treatment to reduce the risk of bruising.

Dermal fillers - faqs

What products are used?

We use Juvéderm®, a world leading brand for hyaluronic acid facial fillers to achieve optimal results.

Cheeks - one of the first signs of ageing is volume loss to the mid-face. By restoring volume to the cheeks by replacing the skin’s natural supply of hyaluronic acid a smoother, more youthful look can be achieved.

Lips - achieve a plump, defined pout with small doses of filler to the lips. Depending on your requested result, lip fillers can help adjust your lip shape and increase volume.

Chin - improve your angles with chin fillers. These treatments can achieve a more defined lower face and side profile.

Nasolabial folds - as with cheek fillers nasolabial fold filler can help restore volume to the mid-face and reduce the appearance of smile lines.

Marionette lines - dermal fillers can provide a scaffolding and smoothening of downturned mouth lines, creating a brighter, fresher appearance.

Jawline - jawline fillers can achieve a more defined profile using firm fillers to sculpt your natural bony structures.

How long do the results last?

Result duration is dependant on sites treated and product used. A softer product used for the lips will last shorter than firmer products used for cheek bones. Additionally, duration is highly dependant on your body’s natural metabolism, general health and lifestyle.
